BEAR, Del. -- The Cape Henlopen Vikings' Football team did not miss a beat after finishing as Delaware 3A State Runner-ups a season ago - as the Vikings opened up their 2024 campaign with a gritty 20-13 road victory over the Red Lion Lions earlier tonight.

This game was eerily similar to last years' season opener - which also happened to be against Red Lion. In both matchups, Cape jumped out to early leads. Last year, they led 21-0 in the second half before Red Lion rallied to make it a one-score game.
