SALISBURY, MD.– The Pat Briscoe Memorial Tournament (formerly known as the Parkside Holiday Wrestling Tournament) is underway, with high schools from around Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia ready to showcase their final moves of 2024 to get ready for the new year.

Pat Briscoe – who passed away this past summer – is not only a legend of Parkside, but a legend to the sport of wrestling, as he was inducted into both the Maryland Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He founded the original tournament in 1968, when he coached James M. Bennett High School. But the Clippers were not the only team he coached in the Bayside, as he is also known as the Father of Parkside Wrestling.
