STEVENSVILLE, Md. -- The Kent Island Buccaneers' Boys' Lacrosse team overpowered Bayside rival Queen Anne's County 14-3 in the Maryland 2A regional final earlier today to push themselves into the State Quarterfinals.

After ending the regular season with a tight 7-4 victory over these same Lions, the Bucs were not going to mess around in this one, as they jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead after just one quarter of play. That lead ballooned to 11-0 heading into break as the Tucker Claxton and Owen Wynot connection lead an offensive charge. From there, they were able to settle in defensively and coast through the second half en route to the regional title.

Kent Island will now move on to their 2A State Quarterfinal matchup this Wednesday. Their opponent for that matchup will be determined once the remaining regional final matchups are played and the reseeding is done.

Queen Anne's season now comes to an end after a successful 8-5 campaign in 2023.
