Darnell Stokes inks commitment letter to play football at Syracuse University

Dagsboro De. – Indian River High School football star Darnell Stokes is officially joining the Syracuse Orange next season. On Wednesday’s National Signing Day, Stokes signed with the program he had already verbally committed to.

Syracuse head coach Fran Brown and his staff were among the first Power 4 programs to recruit Stokes after he visited campus as a sophomore. That early relationship paid off, as Stokes stayed solid with the Orange through signing day. The dynamic playmaker just capped a brilliant career at Indian River, where the Indians won the Delaware Class 1A state title last year and reached the Class 2A state championship game this season. Stokes was recently voted the 2024 Delaware Class 2A Offensive Player of the Year.
