DOVER, Del. – The DIAA playoffs brought intense action to Dover as the Wilmington Friends Quakers edged out the ECHS Hornets 47-40 in a tightly contested battle. The game featured standout performances on both sides, with the Quakers overcoming a second-half deficit to punch their ticket to the next round. Head coach Jeff Flanders’ squad thrived under pressure, led by Ryan Weigand’s dominant 20-point performance.

The Hornets started strong, holding a slim 19-18 lead late in the first half, thanks to Marshay Brown’s aggressive play and Jayla Dukes’ efforts on the boards. However, foul trouble plagued ECHS, allowing Wilmington Friends to regain momentum. A key free throw by Gianna Cottone just before halftime gave the Quakers a 23-19 advantage heading into the break.
