SALISBURY, MD -- The Parkside Boys' Lacrosse team started off the 2023 season strong earlier today, winning their opening matchup against the Saint Peter and Paul School 10-6.

After ending the first quarter tied at one, The Rams were able to build a three-goal lead with subsequent goals from Liam Hart, Luke Maci, and Bready Buck.

The visiting Sabres of the ESIAC conference would not let this game get away from them early, however, as Grant Messick and Davis Kimminau each netted a goal to cut the lead to one.

It appeared that it would be a one goal deficit going into the break, as Parkside held possession after a stoppage with just 13 seconds left. However, that was more enough time for Hart to sprint to his left, stop, and snipe one in with just four seconds left for his third goal of the half to sway momentum back to the Rams favor heading into break.

That momentum would carry over into the second half, where Parkside would build a four goal lead and keep put down any Sabre resistance en route to a 10-6 win.

At 1-0, Parkside will look to see if they can grow a nice start to their regular season campaign next Monday at Delmar at 5:30.

Next up for Saint Peter and Paul is another conference crossover matchup; this time against the Henlopen conference with another road tilt at Cape Henlopen Thursday at 7:00.
