As the sun set over the University of Maryland the Huntingtown Hurricanes raised their state championship trophy following a 3-2 win over Stephen Decatur.

It's that time of year again, when the University of Maryland opens their softball field for the grand finale of the MPSSAA Softball State Tournament. This year Decatur and Huntingtown look to faceoff for the 2025 State Championship.

Throughout the first three innings both teams seemed flawless. Decatur's Madison McGinnis and Huntingtown's Jordyn Greever went K for K with each other from inside the circle while fielders contained any lose hits to keep the game knotted at zero.
