GEORGETOWN — Cape Henlopen defeated Sussex Academy 18-6 in a dominant lacrosse performance. After a back-and-forth first half, which saw the game tied at 5-5 at halftime, the Vikings took control in the third quarter. Aly Diehl scored twice, including a free shot, to give Cape a commanding lead. Claire Lopez added a highlight-reel behind-the-back goal, and the Vikings shut down Sussex Academy’s offense in the second half, allowing just one goal.

Cape Henlopen’s defense and offensive execution proved too much for the Seahawks, as they extended their lead throughout the final minutes. The Vikings rolled to an 18-6 victory, with Diehl leading the charge.
