FELTON, Del. — The Cape Henlopen Vikings kicked off their basketball season with a strong 64-50 win over the Lake Forest Spartans in an intense and action-packed game Thursday night. Jameson Tingle set the tone early, driving through the middle for an and-one play that put the Vikings on the board first. Moments later, Braxton Figgs made his presence felt, intercepting a pass from Lake and finishing with a clean layup to keep Cape ahead.

The Vikings capitalized on their momentum with precision shooting from the perimeter. Stephen Sivels dished the ball to Figgs, who drained a three-pointer from the corner, pushing the Vikings' lead further. Lake Forest, however, was undeterred. Darius Miller found Raekwon Sullivan for a triple of their own, closing the gap slightly. Sullivan later connected with Seth Young, who nailed a deep three-pointer, giving the Spartans their first lead of the game. Miller continued the push with a mid-range jumper and an electrifying fast-break dunk that ignited the Spartans' bench.
