FRANKFORD, Del. -- The Lower Sussex Senior Little League team entered their rematch with last year's Senior World Series champion Texas District 9 looking for revenge after falling to them 9-5 in the title game.

However, it was Texas serving a cold dish back at them instead - as the Southwest representatives belted their way to a 5-1 win earlier tonight.

Texas did what all road teams want to do when entering a tough environment - jump out to an early lead. With two down, nobody on in the opening frame, Southwest's Christi McGuire provided that early run support; rocking a Cierra Lewis fastball deep over the center field fence to put the visitors up 1-0.

For the Delaware bats, it was rough going up against McGuire, who was throwing on the mound in addition to batting in the three-spot for Texas.

Texas chipped in another two-run shot in the third and another in the seventh en route to the victory that moves them to 2-0 in tournament pool play.

Delaware now falls to 1-1 in pool play - just as last year's squad did before making it to the title game. Next up for the host squad is a big battle with the Latin American representatives from Puerto Rico tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m.
