Delaware Blue Gold football game

NEWARK, Del. - Rosters for this summer's Blue-Gold All Star football game have been released and include students from 48 schools throughout Delaware.

The summer all star game, which is organized each year by the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with intellectual disABILITIES, features student athletes who have been chosen for their outstanding character as well as being exceptional football players. In addition to the athletes on the field, each game includes band members and cheerleaders along with student ambassadors from the DFRC Blue-Gold program, which works towards creating environments that foster diversity and acceptance and focus on abilities both in school and throughout communities.

The 2024 Blue-Gold football roster features 36 high school seniors from schools throughout Delaware.

For the 2024 game, John Reed from Caravel Academy has been chosen as head coach of the blue team. He will be assisted by Dave Willard, Matt Rice and John Smith, all also from Caravel, in addition to Rahsaan Matthews from Howard High School of Technology and John Bellace from Archmere Academy.

Marvin Dooley from Woodbridge High School has been selected to lead the gold team. He will be assisted by fellow Woodbridge coaches Dom Trotta, JD Messeck and Brandon Dooley. They will be joined by Eston Ennis from Sussex Tech and Patrick Moffitt from St. Andrew's.

The 68th Blue-Gold All Star football game is set for Friday, June 21. Gates open at 5 and kick-off is at 7 p.m. at the University of Delaware football stadium. Tickets are available online and proceeds from the Blue-Gold football game and other DFRC events go towards enrichment programs for Delawareans with intellectual disabilities.
