Dover International Speedway Removing 29,000 Seats

DOVER, Del.- Dover International Speedway is removing 29,000 seats that surround the track, reducing the venue's maximum capacity in its grandstands to 54,000 fans.

Dover Motorsports CEO Mike Tatoian said the move was intended to help improve the experience for NASCAR fans who attend races at the Monster Mile. He noted sports venues across the country have experienced declines in attendance and the latest reduction in seating matches that trend.
