GEORGETOWN, Del-- The Sussex Central Golden Knights faced off against the Appoquinimink Jaguars in the DIAA Class 3A Football Quarterfinals. In the first quarter, the Golden Knights scored the first touchdown of the night. Shortly after, the Jaguars answered back with their own touchdown. From then on, Appoquinimink would find themselves in the lead. In the fourth quarter, the Golden Knights bounced back and tied 28-28 with the Jaguars. Tensions were high for the remainder of the game. But with less than a minute left on the clock, Rodney Escobar-Gonzalez broke the tie with a field goal. Sussex Central won 31-28. The Golden Knights will go on to play Salesianum in the semi-finals.Â
