Laurel, D.E. — The Laurel School District announced on their Facebook page Friday morning that the Joey Jones era has come to a close. After seven seasons, 49 wins, and two state championships.

The former Salisbury University quarterback posted on his own Facebook that he is "stepping down as the head football coach at Laurel High School... With having such a big family, it's now time to pour all the extra time back into my own kids and marriage."
