WHEATON-GLENMONT, Md. -- The Queen Anne's County Field Hockey team's undefeated 2023 season came to a tough end earlier tonight, as they fell 1-0 in the MPSSAA state semifinals to Hereford.

The game's lone goal? That came from the stick of Junior Bull Maddie Fuller, who sniped one in off a penalty shot late in the first quarter.

After that goal, Hereford spent the following quarters doing an excellent job neutralizing a strong Lions' attack; limiting their corners and open scoring chances to preserve the 1-0 shutout victory.

Despite the difficult end, this season will still go down as a success for the squad from Centreville. Queen Anne's finishes the year with a total record of 14-1, and will go in to next year's campaign as defending Bayside Conference Champions for the first time in program history.
