The Easton Warriors traveled to Federalsburg to face off against Colonel Richardson on Monday night, a matchup many Bayside soccer have been curious to see. The tenacious offense of the Warriors facing off against the stalwart defense of the Colonels. It was a physical game from the jump, shoulders and elbows playing just a big a role as the legs and feet of our contestants. It wouldn't be until 25 minutes into the game before Easton was able to get their first goal. A nifty header off an inbound from senior Clay Nagel. From there the game would remain in Easton's control, the Warriors physicality paying off as they get their second goal of the game off a free kick. Ale Monroy making the most of the penalty and putting another away in the back of the net. The Colonels would eventually get on the board. Shafay Alvi with the heads up play after Easton's keeper bobbles the ball in the box. It would be too little too late though as Easton would come out with the 2-1 win. After the game, senior captain Clay Nagel said that when playing against a high level defense like Colonels, persistence is key... "We just kept being tenacious, winning first and second balls. Eventually we got one to go in... Just keep the energy up. Ya know if you work harder than the other team, 9 times out of 10 you will come out with the win."
