NEWARK, Del. — Caravel advanced to the DIAA softball state final with a 6-3 semifinal win over Smyrna on Tuesday. The Buccaneers struck early, as Payton Losten singled and scored in the first inning, followed by a two-run fourth capped by Alyvia Harris’ RBI double.

Smyrna threatened in the second but left two runners stranded after a strikeout by Caravel’s Kaley Arrowsmith. The Eagles added three runs in the fifth and seventh, but couldn’t close the gap.
