Highlights: Shorebirds hold off Nationals 6-0 in contest suspended in 8th

SALISBURY, Md -- After early offense, including two home runs, Delmarva won 6-0 over Fredericksburg in the series opener Tuesday night. The contest was suspended for weather after eight official innings.

The Shorebirds didn’t waste much time to jump on the Nationals. After Delmarva’s first two hitters reached base, Elis Cuevas drove lead-runner Nate George in with a single to right field.
