...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM SATURDAY TO
2 AM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Northwest winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt
expected.

* WHERE...Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA,
Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA and
Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth
Island.

* WHEN...From 8 PM Saturday to 2 AM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT SATURDAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT IS CANCELLED...

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in
low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

* WHERE...Coastal portions of Wicomico and Somerset Counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable
locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low
threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above
ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low
lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the
waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

REQUIREMENTS

Each entry should contain the following information:
  • Name and gender of student
  • School attending
  • Name of school-sponsored sports in which the student participates
  • Verification of grades: either a copy of the previous marking period report card or a letter from school counselor stating student’s GPA (for this year’s first semester marking periods, please use student’s junior term final grades)
  • Written recommendation from his/her coach

There is no limit on the number of submissions received each month/year from each school. Once the student-athlete’s application is submitted it will be eligible for each monthly award until May 2024.
