WAR ON THE SHORE DAY 1

The 20th Annual War on the Shore wrestling tournament took place 
on January 15th the Stephen Decatur high school. Eighteen schools took place from over six different states to compete. Of those schools were Sussex Central and the Cesar Rodney Riders. Starting off in the 138 weight class Gunnar Abbott of Central took on Cameron Cataldi from the Riders. Early on Cataldi was aggressive on his takedown ,but ran out of time. Later on in the match in bottom position Abbott caught a good arm lock. Cataldi stayed patient and was able to regain top position until he got the pin. Also on Mat number four in the 145 pound weight class Todd Nickles from Colonel Richardson took on Gavin Solido from the home team Stephen Decatur. 
From the start Solido dominated within a matter of minutes he had Nickles on his back for the pin. Sticking with the Seahawks in the 160 pound weight class three time State Champion Noah Reho took on Colonel Richardson's Robert Barnet. Later with the early takedown by Reho he was able to gain control. Barnet tried to show a good sprawl ,but Reho had substantial top position. Up 8 points in the match Reho was able to flip Barnet on to his back for the pin.
