Hawks Use First Half Burst to Secure Comfortable Home Win

PRINCESS ANNE Md. – UMES closed out its non-conference home schedule with an 84–60 win over Gwynedd Mercy University. The Griffins kept it close early, but a late 10–0 Hawks run in the first half created separation and gave UMES a cushion heading into the break. UMES maintained that advantage throughout the second half to secure the victory.

Joseph Locandro led all scorers with 19 points, while Dorion Staples added 14. UMES saw balanced production across the lineup, with all but three players finding the scoresheet.
