PRINCESS ANNE Md. – Hampton and UMES met on the court for the first time since 2018, and the Pirates came away with a 74–68 victory. Hampton controlled the game early, using a decisive 23–4 first-half run to build a double-digit lead that held for most of the night. The Pirates pushed the advantage to 17 with just over 10 minutes remaining before UMES began to chip away.

The Hawks surged late and closed the gap to four in the final minutes but couldn’t complete the comeback. Josh Ogundele led Hampton with 17 points and created consistent problems in the paint. For UMES, Zion Obanla delivered a season-high 20 points off the bench, while Joseph Locandro added 18.
