After ending the regular season on a hot streak, UMES men's basketball seemed poised for a Cinderella run in the MEAC Tournament... But the shoe didn't quite fit.

If you casually followed the UMES men's basketball season this year, it's no mystery to you why they entered the 2025 MEAC Tournament as the 8th seed. But if you are a diehard Hawks fan (like we are at DSN of course), then you'd know our guys were coming in hot to Norfolk with glass slippers in hand.

8th seed UMES, 1 seed Norfolk State, homefield advantage at Norfolk Scope Arena... It all just screams Cinderella run! And it almost was.
