Day 1 of the MEAC Tournament has come to an end and so has the DSU women's basketball season. After coming into the tournament with a 5-23 record, the Hornets knew a run in the tournament would be a formidable challenge.

And though things may not have ended in Delaware's favor, their time in the tournament was far from wasted. Kiarra Mcelrath, a sophomore guard, went off for 24 points with 5-9 shooting from beyond the arc. The Hornets second leading scorer, Mahogany Cottingham (another sophomore!), further showed that DSU is in good hand as the lower classmen look to make the next step.
