SALISBURY, MD-- Lower Sussex (Delaware) Little League Softball's run falls just short of a title, as Waco, Texas (Southwest) uses a massive nine-run 6th inning to push themselves past Delaware 9-5 in the Senior Little League World Series Championship game.

Lower Sussex entered the 6th holding a 3-0 lead, but eight consecutive Texas batters either recorded a hit or reached base to give themselves a lead.

The massive inning was topped off by a grand slam from Ky-Li Alonzo's that just cleared the center field fence to give them plenty of breathing room at 9-3.

Delaware crept closer in the bottom of the 7th, as a Lily Hoban single and a Jaya Shaub sac fly cut the lead to 9-5. However, Texas starting pitcher Isabella Garcia shut down the Delaware comeback attempt to cement the complete game, getting Shaniyah Lewis to groundout to second for the final out.

Prior to the 6th, Delaware was in full control with ace Kinsley Hall on the bump. Through five innings, she had seven strikeouts and had held the Texas lineup to only two hits.

Delaware also jumped out early, with an RBI single from Shaub and a dropped third strike allowing Laniyah Lewis to score to give them a 2-0 edge after 1.
