BRISTOL, Ct. -- The Delmar Wildcat Little League Majors' Softball team's season came to an end last night, as the bats struggled to get going in a 3-0 defeat to North Pocono/Dandy Lion Little League (Pennsylvania).

After having their game pushed back an hour and a half due to thunderstorms in the area, the Wildcats were held to one hit thanks to a fantastic complete game shutout performance from Pennsylvania starter Ariella Bell.

The scoring was opened up in the opening frame, when Gabriella Carra came through with a clutch two out RBI single to give North Pocono a 1-0 lead.

Delmar starter Kate Quade settled in after that first inning and had a nice performance herself, shutting down the North Pocono bats for the next three innings.

However, Quade ran into trouble in the fifth, where Pennsylvania took advantage of some miscues to plate two key insurance runs. From there, Bell was able to get comfortable and shut down any potential Delmar rally the rest of the way.

Congratulations to the Delmar ladies on a great season.
