Salisbury, MD -- The Delmarva Shorebirds (24-54, 3-10) used patience at the plate to outlast the Salem Red Sox 8-7 in 10 innings Friday night. The Shorebirds took an early 1-0 lead before Salem took a 3-1 lead off a Bryan Gonzalez three-run homer.

Delmarva rallied for five runs in the seventh inning, drawing five straight walks in the frame to go up 7-3. Salem though tied the game in the ninth inning scoring four runs before Luis Valdez drew a bases loaded walk in the tenth inning to secure the victory for the Shorebirds.
