DOVER, Del. — The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association announced Tuesday that a new divisional realignment model is coming to Delaware high school sports. Under the new format, all team sports will compete in a two-division system starting in the 2027-28 school year.

According to the DIAA, the change is designed to create a more consistent playoff structure across all sports. Classifications will be set on a two-year cycle and determined using a competitive balance formula.
