Shot Clock

DOVER De. – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association announced Monday that it has unanimously approved the implementation of a shot clock beginning in the upcoming season. Currently, 32 states use some form of a shot clock in high school basketball.

“The implementation of a shot clock promotes game flow, competitive balance, and consistency with national standards,” said DIAA Executive Director David L. Baylor. The shot clock is expected to allow teams 35 seconds per possession and will be used for both boys and girls varsity games.
