Smyrna and Sussex Academy faced off in baseball Monday evening. The Eagles went on to secure a 9-8 victory in eight innings.

GEORGETOWN, Del-- Smyrna and Sussex Academy faced off in baseball Monday evening at Sports at the Beach. Throughout the game, the Eagles and Seahawks found themselves in a back and fourth for the lead.

At the top of the fifth, Sussex Academy had a leading score of 2-1. But it was Smyrna's Trevor Ridgeway who scored a 3-RBI triple that gave a 4-2 lead to the Eagles. By the end of the sixth, Sussex Academy and Smyrna found themselves in a 5-5 tie.
