Highlights: Sussex Central Defeats Delmar 3-2 in the DIAA Softball Quarterfinals

GEORGETOWN, Del-- Sussex Central and Delmar faced off in the DIAA Softball Quarterfinals. At the top of the first, Delmar's Macy Rickards scored a homerun, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. At the bottom of the first, Sussex Central's Emma Jackson answered back with an RBI single, tying the score 1-1. 

The score remained unchanged until the bottom of the fifth when Lauren Myers of Sussex Central scored a 2 RBI triple, giving the lead to the Golden Knights with a score of 3-1. The Wildcats tried to take the lead, but were only able to score one additional run at the top of the seventh. Sussex Central secured a 3-2 win and their ticket to the Semi-Finals. On Wednesday, May 27th, Sussex Central will travel to the University of Delaware to take on Lake Forest.
