Highlights: Sussex Central baseball defeat Sanford 3-2 in state quarterfinals

GEORGETOWN, Del. — The Sussex Central Golden Knights entered \the DIAA Baseball Quarterfinal riding the momentum of a dramatic 5-2 victory over Saint Mark's in the second round, highlighted by an Osiah Kelly walk-off home run. Awaiting them, however, was one of the state's hottest teams.

The Sanford Warriors entered the tournament as the No. 16 seed but quickly established themselves as a legitimate contender. After upsetting top-seeded Conrad with a 2-0 shutout in the second round, Sanford arrived in Georgetown just one win away from a trip to Frawley Stadium and the state semifinals.
