DAGSBORO, DE. -- The defending Division 1 State Champion Indian River football squad was set to take on Odessa High School in their season opener. This would mark the first game for the Indians since they moved up to Division 2.

What started as chaos for the Indians -giving up a safety and a field goal to go down 5-0 early- would eventually turn into bliss as they would score 46 unanswered points. Seniors Darnell Stokes and Davon Handy would lead the charge for the Indians, as Stokes found the endzone once, but racked up plenty of running after catch yardage, and Handy would score twice for the Indians.
