STEVENSVILLE, Md. – The Kent Island Buccaneers treated their home playoff opener like a coronation, wasting no time snuffing out any hope for Southern-AA. The 2-7 Bulldogs never found a foothold in a 56-0 rout.

After the teams traded turnovers on their opening possessions, Kent Island shifted into overdrive. Quarterback Colton Starlings and receiver Chase Helfenbein connected for four first-half touchdowns through the air, and Starlings added a rushing score of his own to cap a dominant opening half.
