SNOW HILL, Md. -- A Jayden Hudson euro-step layup with less than a minute to go provided the Snow Hill Eagles' Boys' Basketball team the necessary bucket to outlast Stephen Decatur 64-62; thus handing the Seahawks their first loss of the season.

Snow Hill wasted no time getting the sell out crowd on their feet, jumping out to a 10-1 lead in the first four minutes of play. From there, Decatur gradually chipped away throughout the subsequent quarter and a half, resulting in a tight back-and-forth affair.

Although the Seahawks managed to cut into that deficit, the Eagles briefly extended their lead past double-digits late in the third before entering the final frame up by eight.

Careen Bolden began to heat up in the fourth quarter, dropping multiple threes to bring the lead down to one with just a minute to go.

However, Hudson's bucket and a big defensive stop on the other end prevented Decatur from completing the comeback, and gave the Eagles its ninth consecutive victory.

The leading scorers for Snow Hill were Hudson along with Ke'Andre Nixon, who each chipped in 20 points in the narrow victory.

Snow Hill now stands at 9-1, and have themselves one of the best wins in the entire Bayside Conference thus far. They will look to make it an even ten in a row back at home against Arcadia this Saturday. Tip off is set for 1:00.

For Stephen Decatur, this is the first blemish on their resume, as they fall to 10-1 on the year. They will look to avoid dropping consecutive games in their next tilt with James M. Bennett at home. That one is set for a 1:30 tip off.

These two squads don't have to wait long to see each other again, as they are set to meet at Decatur next Saturday at 2:30 in what will surely be a highly anticipated rematch.
