SMYRNA, Del. — The undefeated Lake Forest Spartans continued their winning streak with a dominant 8-0 shutout over the Smyrna Eagles in May Day softball action Wednesday. The Spartans struck early in the first inning when Carah Sumpter advanced to scoring position on a wild pitch and later scored on an RBI single by catcher Chloe Revelle.

Lake Forest widened the gap in the fourth inning with bases loaded when Kaitlyn Pierce drew a walk to bring in a run, followed by a 3-RBI double by Bayli Glanden to make it 5-0. Glanden added to her standout performance in the sixth with a 2-run homer deep to left field. The Spartans would add one more run to cap the shutout, improving their season record while keeping their perfect run intact.
