DOVER, Del. — Carter Bean and the Dover Senators powered past the Polytech Panthers with a commanding 9-3 victory Monday in Henlopen Conference baseball action. The Senators took control early, scoring two runs in the first inning, including one on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to Preston Byrd. Polytech responded in the top of the second with an RBI single from Hermes Rodriguez, but Dover held onto a slim lead heading into the fourth.

The Senators broke the game open in the middle innings with a string of aggressive at-bats. Ryan Perkins smashed an RBI double in the fourth, followed by another RBI hit from Byrd and a two-run double by Chase Greene in the fifth. Carter Bean capped the offensive surge with a two-run homer to left, giving Dover a 9-1 advantage. Despite two late runs from Polytech in the seventh, the Senators held firm to improve their position in conference play.
