SALISBURY, MD -- The Kent Island Girls' Basketball team remained perfect earlier tonight; handling the Parkside Rams 63-44 to advance in the Maryland 2A State Playoffs to the Region Final.

The first half saw the Buccaneers gain control, but with Parkside hanging around down by a score of 29-22 at the break. However, the Buccaneers offense exploded for a 21-point third quarter, which helped them build a twenty point lead that would not be threatened.

Offensively, the seniors led the charge for Kent Island, as guard Alivia Hanesworth and Forward Allison Corbin combined for 35 of the Bucs' 63 points (16 and 19 points, respectively).

Kent Island is now a remarkable 22-0 on the season, and keeps the train rolling into the Region Final this Wednesday against Bayside rival Easton. The winner of that game will move on to the 2A State Quarterfinals as the Bayside representative.
