GLEN BURNIE, Md --- The Mardela Warriors are headed to the state final after a 1-0 victory over the Allegany Campers in extra innings. The game remained scoreless through seven innings, with both teams showcasing strong defense and pitching. Mardela's Elana Donalds, Camryn Dorr, and Abby Campbell all had chances to score but were held off by Allegany's solid defense.

In the top of the eighth, Mardela executed a successful trick play to catch a runner stealing second, followed by a strikeout to retire the side. With the game still tied in the bottom of the eighth, Lexie Guy reached base with a bunt, and after an intentional walk, the bases were loaded for Ava Twilley.
