BERLIN, Md. — Stephen Decatur High cruised to a 14-0 shutout over Lackey in the state softball quarterfinals Thursday. The Seahawks exploded for 11 runs in the first inning, led by a two-run homer from Ryleigh Smith and a two-RBI double from Madison Donoway.

Pitcher Emily Blume dominated on the mound with multiple strikeouts and back-to-back scoreless innings. Decatur added to the lead in the second with an RBI double from Riley Hertzog, sealing the mercy-rule win and a trip to the state semifinals.
