CAMDEN, Del – In a clash of lacrosse powerhouses, defending state champions Cape Henlopen staved off a furious second-half comeback from Caesar Rodney to secure a 12-9 win in the final game of the regular season. The Vikings built a strong early lead behind standout performances from Haley Gamuciello, who scored multiple goals including a crucial free position shot in the fourth quarter, and Claire Lopez, who helped orchestrate the early offensive push.

Caesar Rodney, trailing 10-4 in the third quarter, mounted an aggressive response led by Delaney Miklus, Brooke Roberts, and Logan Fuchs, who narrowed the gap to just two goals late in the game. Ella Brown added a pair of clutch finishes, keeping the Riders within striking distance. However, a late goal by Cape’s Lina Frederick sealed the victory, ending CR’s momentum and preserving Cape Henlopen’s top-seed aspirations heading into the postseason.
