SALISBURY Md. – Javier Perez turned in eight shutout innings Tuesday night to lead the Fayetteville Woodpeckers to a 6-3 Game 3 win over Delmarva. Both offenses were held quiet through the first five innings before Fayetteville finally broke through in the top of the sixth with a pair of runs.

The Woodpeckers added insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings to build a 6-0 lead. Delmarva answered with three runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the late rally wasn’t enough as Fayetteville came away with the victory.
