SALISBURY Md. – The Delmarva Shorebirds fell behind early and could not complete a late comeback in an 8-6 loss to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Myrtle Beach scored five runs in the second inning and added two more in the third to take a commanding 7-0 lead.

The Shorebirds battled back late, scoring three runs in the seventh inning and adding two more in the ninth. Delmarva continued to chip away at the deficit but ultimately ran out of time as the Pelicans held on for the 8-6 victory.
