Adonis Smith

SALISBURY Md. – The Delmarva Shorebirds announced their coaching staff on Tuesday, highlighted by the hiring of the 19th manager in franchise history. Adonis Smith takes over as manager after leading the High-A Aberdeen IronBirds last season. Smith also brings prior managerial experience from 2024, when he served as manager of the Trenton Thunder in the MLB Draft League. A former player, Smith spent time as an infielder at North Carolina A&T and later played professionally in the Frontier League. Former Shorebirds manager Collin Woody will move on to manage the High-A Frederick Keys.

Delmarva will also feature new leadership on the coaching staff, as Bailey Vuylsteke was named pitching coach after spending the past two seasons coaching in the Dominican Summer League and Florida Complex League with the Baltimore Orioles organization. Collin McBride joins the Shorebirds as hitting coach after working within the Minnesota Twins organization for the past three years. The Shorebirds will open their home schedule on April 7 at 7:05 p.m., with the game broadcast live on the Delmarva Sports Network.
