SALISBURY, M.D. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds kicked off their 2026 season with their 23rd annual Hot Stove Banquet on Thursday February 5th, 2026. The banquet signifies the beginning of the new year for the organization, and this year brought in a special guest speaker. 1983 World Series Champion and three-time All-Star Ken Singleton headlined the list of speakers on Thursday night. 

Singleton was traded to Baltimore from the Montreal Expos in December of 1974. The Expos claimed they were trying to get better. Singleton looked at it as an opportunity to prove his worth. He went on to have the best stretch of his career from 1975 to 1983. He lead the Orioles in hitting multiple times and was a force in the middle of the lineup.
