Longtime Salisbury Men’s Basketball Coach Ward Lambert Dies at 88

SALISBURY Md, - The winningest head coach in Salisbury men’s basketball history died last week at age 88. Ward Lambert spent 30 seasons at the helm of the Sea Gulls, recording 432 wins.

Lambert also coached one of the most prolific scorers in Division III history, Andre Foreman, who holds the all-time scoring record at the NCAA Division III level. Before arriving at Salisbury, Lambert began his coaching career at Stephen Decatur High School and led the Seahawks to a boys basketball state championship in 1970.
