PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Crisfield native and former Maryland basketball star Andre Collins hosted his fifth annual Dre Day at University of Maryland-Eastern Shore this past Sunday.
The event promotes anti-bullying and anti-gun violence in and around eastern Maryland. Sunday's festivities included an exhibition and a celebrity game featuring Collins and Sixers' guard Trevelin Queen.
Each team in the celebrity game played in honor of a young man who lost their life to gun violence -- Jalen Woolford of Cambridge and Noah Miles of Crisfield. The games were emceed by Pat Doughty, PA for the Charlotte Hornets.
This the second charity basketball event Collins' has orchestrated in the past two weeks, following "Badges and Basketball" with country star Jimmie Allen at Cape Henlopen High School.
